Be Born in Us

Published by christi on

O holy Child of Bethlehem,

Descend to us, we pray;

Cast out our sin and enter in,

Be born in us today.

Jesus came to show us the Father. Everything true about Jesus is true about the Father. To have Jesus born in us…means we are never far from His help; it means everything we go through He goes through. Each difficulty we face, we face together. Each joy is treasured and shared with Him. He tells us in John 15 to abide in Him and He abides in us. This is not a temporary situation, but a permanent, life-altering condition. Jesus in us is our hope of glory. Jesus in us means fruit-bearing. Jesus in us means we don’t tie our shoes on our own!

When Jesus is born in us, we are born, too! New life springs up in our hearts, affecting every aspect of our being. Our affections change; our dislikes change; the transformation of our hearts begins and continues until God has completely remade us to look like Jesus. (No, we will not all get brown eyes and a beard!) But the process of becoming like the One we follow is not a one-time offer, or a one-fell-swoop event, and it is not accomplished without the in-born Son of God living His life out in us.

He alone can “cast out our sin,” and He does, one garbage bag at a time…when we let Him!  He has paid for it all. He has already carried all our guilt away; but He does not tear it from our grasp. Some of us believe that the mark of God in our lives is the guilt we continue to feel for sin. This is not what God had in mind! When we release our guilt to Jesus, and actually let Him remove it from us, what we feel is relief, peace and joy! All of which He shares!

Give Him the gift of letting Him do for you what He died to do: bring you peace with God!

Let the life of the Son of God grow in you today!

Still #followingJesuseverydayintheeveryday !
