The Twelfth Day of Christmas

On the twelfth day of Christmas my True Love gave to me… twelve gates of heaven!
This twelfth gift is one that bears more consideration that we tend to give it, unless someone dear to us is at the brink of death.
Heaven! The place where no one cries or dies, where all is made right, where justice and mercy reign together!
Heaven: where the One slain for us before the founding of the world shines with such brightness that there is no darkness or shadow there, no place for fear or deceit.
Heaven: where all of the shouts and cheering are for Him, and even the stadium where the redeemed gather shouts His praise!
Heaven: where we see the fruit of our suffering in every material of its construction: pearls — an oyster’s response to irritation, gemstones — common minerals subjected to great heat and pressure, gold — smelted and purified in a furnace.
Heaven: the complete fulfillment of all that in this world is good, right and comforting, but a mere shadow of the reality.
Let us consider what a great gift lies ahead of those who follow Jesus, and let us live in light of that gift!
On the twelfth day of Christmas, my True Love gave to me: twelve gates of Heaven,
eleven risen meetings, ten filled commandments, nine fruit of the Spirit, His pow’rful Name, seven-fold Spirit, six days of nature, five healing wounds, four gospels, three witnesses, old and new birth, and Himself wrapped in human flesh!
Merry Christmas!
