The Seventh Day of Christmas

Published by christi on

On the seventh day of Christmas my True Love gave to me…the seven-fold Spirit.

Of all the gifts given us by our True Love, this one is the most intimate! This is the one that makes “Emmanuel” mean something! “God With Us” becomes “God Within Us” because of this gift: the indwelling Spirit of God, described by John as seven-fold (Revelation 1 and beyond):. This matches the picture  of the seven-branched candelabra that lit the interior of the tent of meeting (Exodus 25). Seven lamps on one stand, made of one piece of pure gold, burning pure oil day and night.  Oil, flames, light: these are all symbols of the Holy Spirit. Seven is the number that symbolizes completion.

Our True Love promised as our dowry His own Spirit,  to live within those who put their trust in Jesus and His work for us. He doesn’t just give us a part of His Spirit; He gives us Himself. Think of it:  the very Spirit of the Living God making His home inside of us!

Home: the place where one stays, where  one belongs. The God Who Is With Us doesn’t just come for a visit. He comes to live!

Take a moment and tell your True Love what you think about His gift!

On the seventh day of Christmas my True Love gave to me: Seven-fold Spirit,

Six days of nature, five healing wounds, four gospels, three witnesses, old and new birth, and Himself wrapped in human flesh.

Merry Christmas!
