Rebel or Child? (more about faith)

I do not write because I myself have something to offer, but because all I have is the One who is always Who we need.
I have nothing but Jesus. Following Him today, in a time of pain and loss, means I hold on to the only thing that does not move, change or die. He is the only one who can keep the promise to never leave me, always love me, always be with me. Even when the reason I am alone is my own doing, my sin or my fault, He loves me with that same everlasting love.
Times like this reveal where I am putting my hope, what I am willing to change, whether I am a rebel at heart or truly a trusting child. There is always some rebel…but I want to be more and more the trusting child — less and less that one that kicks and screams (and blames and accuses) when things do not go her way. I am thankful to have a Father who does not send me away till I am “better,” but who keeps me safely within the circle of His arms until I can stop fighting and scratching and rest in them.
I do not know my way through the labyrinth I face. I can only see what lies directly before me, and that only through tears. But there is One who, through ten thousand years of interactions with human history, has shown Himself to be trustworthy and who has the ultimate view of the path I need to take. My job in this is to listen and obey, because He knows the way, and I don’t. (And I can’t hear Him very well when I am yelling at Him…)
