Jesus’ Everyday Offer
Jesus offers us rest…
rest from the crazy-making struggle of having to be good enough;
rest from the dizzying effort of understanding why anything;
rest from the air-sucking pressure of maintaining our “composure.”
Jesus offers us company…
delighting in our presence;
responding to our conversation;
walking with us everywhere.
Jesus offers us strength…
His strength in our weakness (We have plenty, don’t we?);
His strength for carrying the load that is ours;
His strength for relieving us of the burden that is NOT ours.
His gentleness assures us that wherever we go with Him ourhearts will be kept safe.
His companionship confirms that we are never alone, nomatter how we feel.
His power declares that we do not need to be enough; He is.
He is the pioneer, the trail-blazer, the first one to walk the path that He calls us to take.
He has completed the trek and offers Himself as both compass and sherpa.
He has mastered by serving, and now serves as Master.
He invites us to come to Him, to rest in Him, to remain connected to Him, to depend fully on Him.
